Agadez – Queendoms Unplugged at Rome’s Auditorium Parco della Musica, between ritual and listening
«An intense and deeply evocative concert: this was Agadez’s performance at Rome's Auditorium Parco della Musica, where on December 18, the singer-songwriter presented the Italian premiere of the Queendoms Unplugged tour. An acoustic and shamanic live set that transformed the stage into a ritual space, suspended between music, spirituality, and archaic memory. Agadez, a stage name inspired by Tuareg symbolism, is Giada Colagrande. Her musical path and compositions clearly reveal the cultural heritage and passions that define her: research into the Sacred Feminine, an interest in archaeo-mythology and shamanism, all of which are also reflected in her choice of core instruments - voice, frame drums, and guitar. In 2024 she composed Queendoms with the intention of creating music capable of inducing trance.
With Queendoms Unplugged, she brings to the stage a new incarnation of the album Queendoms (2024), dedicated to archaic female cults that followed the primordial one of the Great Mother. The concert proved to be a true initiatory journey, a sensory and spiritual experience in which each piece is consecrated to a Goddess, her myth, and her primordial power. Behind every name lies a single essence: the Primordial Great Goddess, guardian of life, death, and mystery. Fundamental was the contribution of Antonio Forcione, an internationally renowned guitarist who rearranged the entire project. His guitar, used as a shaman uses his drum, merged with Agadez’s voice, creating deep, hypnotic soundscapes of great emotional intensity. On stage with them was an ensemble that amplified the project’s tribal and choral dimension: Natalia Bacalov (cello and voice), Martin Sevrin (bass), Lucrezia Testa Iannilli (bodhrán), Simone Pulvano (percussion), and Claudia Ugenti (voice and drums). An immersive live performance of about an hour and a half, greeted with long applause.»

AGADEZ in “QUEENDOMS Unplugged”: the acoustic and shamanic live show at the Auditorium Parco della Musica is sold out
«Agadez, a name inspired by Tuareg symbolism, performed her new album Queendoms Unplugged live at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome.
The singer-songwriter, actress, and filmmaker Giada Colagrande, her given name, on Thursday 18 December, in a sold-out Teatro Studio Borgna, presented the Italian premiere of the tour of her new project. An acoustic and “shamanic” version, entirely rearranged by guitarist Antonio Forcione, of the album Queendoms, released in 2024 and dedicated to ancient female cults. A journey through music and spirituality, charged with intense emotional energy, in which each track is dedicated to a Goddess, her power, and her myth. The artist, who in her career boasts collaborations with Franco Battiato, Marina Abramović, Robert Wilson, and Willem Dafoe (her husband), captivated everyone with her voice, accompanied by drums and guitar, evoking tribal worlds and archaic mythologies. An intense and immersive live performance lasting about an hour and a half, followed by long applause.»

VANITY FAIR ITALIA: AGADEZ presents the unplugged version of the new album at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome
“For years I’ve been studying these themes, and I wanted to create an album capable of taking us across different worlds, through many civilizations — from the Egyptians to the Sumerians — in search of ancient female cults and figures. This research, this journey through so many different cultures, deeply stimulated me as an artist. I felt it was time to put into music this ‘shared belonging’, which in the end takes the face of a goddess.”
For the Unplugged version of the album — the one she will present in Rome — she chose to collaborate with Antonio Forcione, whose guitar, once heard, penetrates beneath the skin.
“I wanted to continue exploring the potential of this album. In the first version, I did the arrangements myself, but I was searching for something more. After attending one of Antonio’s concerts, I realized that his guitar and the almost shamanic dimension of his music would be perfect for creating this version.”
